Before being sent to the site, pictures should be resized, in order to lose some weight (originals straight out of your camera are much too heavy). A graphic editor should be used (Microsoft PhotoEditor, Office picture manager, PaintShop Pro, Photoshop…).
To resize:
- Do a backup copy of the images you wish to modify (in order to keep an original)
- Open the graphic editor
- Open the pictures you just copied
- Select the menu option allowing the resizing (look for a menu option saying 'Image / resize’, or something approaching)
- Most graphic editors work with several measure units (at least centimeters, inches and pixels). Ensure that the selected unit is pixels (Px) (if not, select it).
- Modify the value corresponding to the largest of the 2 values displayed, and bring it to 600. If not performed automatically, modify also the value corresponding to the smallest of the 2 values , and bring it to 450. (If the pictures’ orientation is ‘landscape’, the width will be 600 and the height will be 450; if its orientation is ‘portrait, height will be 600 and width 450.)
- Save
- Repeat these steps for each picture you want to upload on the site.
Once all pictures are resized, open the gallery (ling at the bottom of this page), click on the category corresponding to the first picture you want to publish. The category opens, ans a new menu option appears in the ‘MENU’ area (to the left of the screen), saying ‘Upload a picture’.
